FEDERATED FARMERS
The Federated Farmers held a meeting ou Saturday evening, May .‘lO, in the Council Chambers. Mr \V r . P. Saunders presided. The main business was to appoint delegates for the conference that is being held in Dunedin. Mr T. .Houston was appointed for the agricultural section; Mr M. Elliott, dairying; Mr C. WardcH, meat and wool; Mr W. P. McDonald, high country. Mr D. H. Cockburn is branch delegate at the conference. The main business of the dairying section is concerning the Government Commission which is to administer the industry. In the agricultural section they arc askin" Gd a bushel for stacked barley, and 31 for stocks or beaded. • The meat and wool section here supported the view of the Southland farm vs in the co operative scheme of killi T,v and marketing their own stock.
