Key. H. T. Steele has been selected to preach on Diocesan Sunday at Auckland.
Mr A. Ramsey is at present acting as postmaster at Helensville, relieving Mr Ansell, who is on holiday.
Hon. J. G. Coates is expected in Dargaville on 10th inst. He will probably pass through here on his way South on 11th.
Mr S. C. Jounneaux, chairman of Kamo Town Board, announces that he will be a candidate for Parliament at next general election.
Mr H. W. Allen has sold his interest in the Mangawhare (Bargaville) Hotel to Mr Ashton, who comes from the South Island. The new proprietor takes possession shortly.
Miss Nellie Channon, daughter of Mr W. Channon, Helensville, was taken by her mother to the Auckland Hospital last week, the girl having developed appendicitis. An operation was performed, and the child is doing well.
Monthly meeting of the Town Board takes place next Thursday night.
