HELENSVILLE HOT SPRINGS
GOOD FLOW OF WATER
Boring operations "at the Hot Springs during the past few days have resulted in a splendid flow of perfectly clear, hot water being tapped, which is corning out at an estimated quantity of 1400 gallons an hour. A three-inch bore was put down, and at 90ft: (after penetrating 7ft. of rock) operations were suspended, as the water was coming away in a good flow. Several residents were dubious about penetrating the rock, as they thought the might be lost, but the experiment has ibeen fully justified. The location of the new bore is on the corner to the left of the main entrance to the bath-house.
By securing this flow the problem of a sufficient supply of water for the projected swimming bath for ladies is solved. We understand that a commencement will be made next week with the excavation for the bath, the teams belonging to the Waitemata County Council having been engaged by rhe Domain Board for thd work.
It is intended .to put down two more three-inch bores adjacent to the men's swimming bath.
