HELENSVILLE A. AND P. ASSOCIATION

EXECUTIVE MEETING.

A meeting of the Executive Committee of the Helensville A. and P. Association was held on Monday, 6th inst., in the farmers' Union Board-room. Mr F. W. Strange occupied the chair, and there were present .-—Messrs J. Mills, W. J. Ellett, W. W. L. Bradly, H. Aitkenhead, H. X F. McMurdo, V. H. McMurdo 1. McLean, J. C. Riramer (vice-president), J. Grey (president), A. Hanson, V. Aitkenhead, C. H. Spinley. and the secretary (Mr A. J. Skelton).

It was resolved that the Ground' Committee meet at 9 a.m. on Friday morning, 10th inst. on the show ground to consider the erection of a fence, and other work.

The treasurer's statement showed that the finance was satisfactory.

Band :—lt was proposed by Mr Aitkenhead, seconded by Mr J. Mills, and carried, that the secretary's action in engaging the Auckland Garrison Artillery Brass Band for Show Day be confirmed.

Catering : It was decided that tendew be called for catering for Show Day,

Special prize for Draught Stock section of Horses : It was proposed by" Mr A. Hanson, seconded by-Mr J,,Mills, and carried, that 5 guineas in cash be donated by the Association for highest number of marks in the Draught Stock Classes, 1 to 18 inclusive.

Mr J. Grey, president, then offered a further donation of 5 guineas in cash to the Draught Stock Classes, which makes a total of 10 guineas for the highest number of points in these classes.

On the motion of Mr F. W, Strange, seconded by Mr H. Aitkenhead, a hearty vote of thanks was accorded the president for his liberal donation! Carried by acclamation.

It was decided to add a further special class, as follows : Class 113a—3 Yearling Shorthorn TTeifers, Ist prize £1; 2nd prize 10s ; entry fee 4s.

The appointment of the judges then took place, all the judges being appointed •xcept the classes appointedxby tbir Ladies' Committee. C|jW^"" Mr J. C. Rimmer, first vice-preaEnt, was welcomed back from his extended tour to Africa and India. Afr Rimmer then gave a very interesting account of some of his travels, a portion 'of which is published elsewhere, ' .^
