RECORD DAIRYING SEASON
THE KAIPARA DAIRY FACTORY CO.'S POSITION.
Although it is yet early in the season to judge on the whole butter-fat output for this district, the local company's experience so far is an excellent indication of how the dairy farmer stands at present. At a meeting of directors on Tuesday, it was stated that since the beginning of the present season the cream received shows an increase on last season of 65 per cent. The factory is making : over 4 tons of butter daily, and is now being shipped at ::f^P|fckland for the Home' market. '■'■'"' Advance payments of 2s per lb on butter-fat are to be made immediately, which the directors expect to increase to 2s 3d. On Saturday next the company will pay out to shareholders and suppliers the record sum of £17,953 17s sd, which is easily the largest monthly payment ever made by the company. The re-construction of the factory buildings, and the installation of more machinery and power, which was delayed for some considerable time at the end of last season, was far enough advanced to make all the difference to the present season's working, and is now nearing completion. The factory will then rank as one of the most convenient and up-to-date in the Auckland province. At their meeting on Tuesday last the directors again considered the question of establishing a dried milk plant, and it is practically certain that a recommendation in this direction will be given effect to in the near future.
