V WEDDING BELLS
MORGAN—CUTHBERT
On Thursday afternoon last, October 14th, at St. Matthews' Church, Helensville, a very pretty wedding was celebrated, when Miss Ethel Cuthbert, sec- , ond daughter of Mr and Mrs R. W. Cuthbert, of Helensville, was married to Mr W. T. (Tas.) "Morgan, eldest son of Mrs and the late Mr W. F. Morgan, " Verona," Parkfield Terrace, Newmarket. The bride, who entered the church on the arm of her father, wore a becoming gown of white crepe de chene; with this was worn a hand • embroided veil, with wreath of orange blossoms, made up in mob-cap style, while a beautiful shower bouquet of white hyacinths and maide.nhair, finished with long ribbon streamers, completed the bride's toilet. Miss Kate Cuthbert (sister of the bride), acted as chief bridemaid and wore white net dress over white silk, and white hat, and carried a white bouquet; Miss Eva Strange, Miss Winnie Cuthbert, and Miss Kathleen Allen (niece of the bride) acted as flower-girls, each being dressed in white organdie muslin, white hat, and pink sashes; each also carried baskets of pink and white carnations. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Clement Houchen and Mr Harold Nicholson carried out the duties of best man. After the ceremony a reception was held at the residence of the brides' parents, "Terminus Hotel," when about fifty guests sat down to a sumptuous repast. The table decorations were carried out by the brides' friends, and were really lovely. The beautiful wedding cake -was the gift of Mr and Mrs F.W. Strange, and Miss Noni Stanley made and presented the bride and bridegroom with a white floral wedding bell, which was suspended from the centre of the breakfast room. The usual toasts appropriate to the occasion wore honoured, and everyone joined in wishing long life and every happiness to the newly weddedcouple.
At the reception Mrs Cuthbert wore black silk, black furs and hat to match; Mrs Morgan (mother of the bridegroom), navy silk with white boa and white hat to match ; Miss Maude Morgan (only sister of the bridegroom), white satin, stitched with black and black picture hat to match ; Mrs Allen (who had come from Dargaville for her sister's wedding), wore a simple gown of navy crepe de chene, and white hat.
The bridegooom's gift to the bride was a diamond and pearl cluster brooch, to the bridesmaid a silver jewel case, to Miss Strange a pink cameo ring,- and to each of the flower-girls, gold brooches set with pearls. A large' number of presents were received, including a substantial cheque from the brides' father. The brides' travelling" costume was uf brick coloured serge, with white braided vest, and small white Georgette hat. Mr and Mrs Morgan left by the afternoon train for Auckland, en route 'toDunedin.
