SPRINGS ROAD
[TO THE EDITOR]
SIR, —Now that the newly elected Town Board is getting into working order, would you allow me space to draw attention to the anomalous position held by the few ratepayers in the town district, who are called upon to maintain good roads, chiefly for the benefit of non-ratepayers. For instance, there is a steady stream of traffic conveying tourists and holiday makers from the railway, passing through the township to the Springs. All the money and trade goes to a place where no rates are derived. Would it not be be.tter to form a borough, and extend the rating area in such a way that the upkeep of roads may be more equitably divided?
Another matter: There have been many complaints about straying cattle and horses, and the Board would confer a lasting benefit upoja the ratepayers, by arranging.jisorn/e remed^y^. j^>r this eW~fl imym^^^ / MaroMTv Ratepayer.
