DOMAIN BOARD.

MONTHLY MEETING,

All the members were present at the above meeting on Thursday evening, Mr J. Stewart in the chair. The minutes of the last ordinary and a special meeting held on October 11th were read and confirmed. It was reported that Mr Clement L. Wragge had donated a quantity of palms for planting along the Domain drive. It was decided to write Mr Wragge thanking him for his very gener- . ous donation. /-' The putting down of a new for supplying water to the 7~"" swimming bath is to be immediately proceeded with. The necessary boring material, it was . reported, had been assembled, and it was hoped to have the bore in working order before Saturday. -^ An application from an Auckland lady massuer to rent a room at the Springs was considered. It was decided to write asking for testimonials. The caretaker's report detailed work done in connection with getting the lawns in order for the coming season. The taking for September amounted to £49 3s 6d. A. discussion took place on the suggestion of Mr Screaton that a charge be made for drinking water in the grounds, A further suggestion that a collection box be-placed in a handy place to secure odd subs, was also brought forward. Both suggestions were considered practicable, and were adopted. It was decided to write Hon. C. J. Parr, M. P., and Hon. J. G. Coates, M. P., in reference to "speeding-up" the extra vote of £300, necessary to construct the ladies' swimming bath. It was decided to have an opening day for the Domain Grounds, and the matter was left to Messrs Screaton and Lambert to arrange. It was resolved that the charges for games be increased, as follows: —Bowls Is, tennis 6d, croquet Is. In connection with the Savage Club's visit on Saturday evening, it was reported that the Board had procured sufficient benzine to supply cars conveying the party to and from the Springs on that night. The x benzine was procured at 37s 6d per case, and would be sold to car owners at cost. " A pretty hot price " remarked a member. A number of accounts were passed for payment, and the meeting concluded.
