AWAROA BOWLING CLUB

ANNUAL MEETING

The annual meeting ot the above club was held in the Town Board office on Tuesday. 28th September, 1920. About 15 were present The president, Mr R. Smith, was in the chair. The miuutes of the last annual meeting were read and confirmed.

The following officers were elected for the forthcoming season:—Patron, Mr D. Stewart; president, Mr A. Hammond ; senior vice-president, Mr H. Aitkenhead; vice-presidents, Hon. A. Myers, M.P., Hon J. G. Coates, M.P., Hon. C. J. Parr, M.P., Messrs J. Stewart, R. J. Walters, C. G. Sandin, M. Wilkins, G. Nicholl, C. J. Claridge, Captain Faulkner; green superintendent, Mr J. Leonard; committee, Messrs W. Ellett, T. Dwerryhouse, A. J. Hill, J. Constable, C. J. Sandin, W. Hunt, J. Cohen, Screaton, R. J. Walters. J. Stanaway; secretary and treasurer, Mr W. Mouat; hon. auditor, Mr H. White, jnr.; selector and handicapper, Mr J. Stanaway ; delegate to Dominion Bowling Association, Mr H. Aitkenhead ; match secretary, Mr C. G. Sandin. It 'was decided that the official opening of the green be on Saturday, 23rd October, 1920The following trophies were won during last season : — First year players (Mr A. Bishop's prize), Mr J. H. Leonard.

Champion singles, Mr Robt Smith.

Non-prize winners' handicap (Mr J. H. Constable's prize), Mr J. H. Leonard.

Sealed handicap singles (Mr Hunt's trophy), Mr R. Smith. Pairs championship (Mr Cuthbert's prize), Mr R. Smith and C. L. Barnard.

Several new members were proposed for ballot.

The meeting closed with a vote of thanks to the chair.
