GLORIT (22) v. MAORIS (6)
Fast and open play characterised the Glorit-Maori-match which took place on the Show Grounds last Saturday afternoon, and the game was interesting throughout. Two of the Maori team were absent, Te Tuhi and Wi Davis beunable to take part, but their places were filled by worthy old-time players, and, with these acquisitions, put up their best gams this season. The feature of the contest was the pace of the Glorit backs and the dashing work - of the Maori forward. The Maoris played up well at times and frequently got within striking distance of the opponent's line, j^butthe pace of the visitor's backs told at the finish and Glorit won by 22 points to 6. A.ll the Glorit backs played well, but H. Mather was the bright particular •tar. He converted two tries and registered two from free kicks. Hor Glorit scores were obtained by P. Gardner,| Mowbray and Gush, and for the Maoris by Paul and Wai Pahima. For the Maoris Downer and S. Davis were the pick of the backs and in the forwards Paul Antonivitch and Constable were the pick of a good pack. Mr Mouatt carried the whistle.
