SOME PIG!
The tale of a pig—a really wonderful pig with a sagacity eclipsing that of many other quadrupeds—comes from Opotiki It is said, and there are the best foundations for the statement, that a well-known resident of Opotiki, owns a pig that acts exceedingly capable and with utmost staidness in the capacity of the sheep-dog. This animal has been brought up with the other animals on thetarm, and early gave signs of advanced thoughts on the difficulties that beset its tender youth. All residents around Opotiki district now are in no way astonished to see this clever hog trotting gaily out to bring in the cattle "'^ froa distant parts of the farm. It will wL&lso round up sheep and horses with all ' ability and assurance imaginable.
