THE BETTER LAND.
I have discovered the perfect place to live.
There is no servant shortage there. Neat, trim, and obliging maids answer the bell, and a deft valet will bring your morning coffee with the letters. Should you dine out, as is done frequently in this wonderful land, the waiters are polite, and exquisitely trained.
You stroll to the door, lift one eyebrow, and up rolls a real taxi. Does the driver argue, and say : "Where' jer wanner go ? " No. He touches his hat, and drives off straightaway.
Th» telephone is brought to the stage of perfection. Everybody has one, from a millionaire to a shopgirl. And you merely have to take up the instrument, think of a number, and before you can double it, you're through. No gratuitous buzzing, no impertinent exchange girls, and no wrong numbers. No. It's not Heaven. It's the way they do thing 6on the films.
