A DANGER SPOT

[TO THE EDITOR.]

Sir, —I am pleased to see that the swimming bath at the Helensville School has been emptied, but it is in my eye still a "danger spot" where young children are concerned, and I consider that as a protection it should be fenced in as soon as possible. When speaking to Mr Smith, one of the members of the School Committee, on the subject, he informed me that the necessary funds were not in hand to do the work, and I would dare to suggest that the Secretary of the above open a subscription list, and I am sure parents will be only too pleased to give their assistance. As a start towards the fund I am leaving a donation of £1 with the editor of our local paper.—l am, etc.,

James Hand.
