SOLDIERS' MEMORIAL COMMITTEE

A meeting of the above committee was held on Monday evening, ten members being present. Mr. J. Stewart presided.

The hon. Secretary was instructed to write the treasurers of the Marshall Memorial Fund and Returned Soldiers' Association, asking them to pay in njour ies they now hold for memorial purposes to the Helensville District Soldiers' Memorial fund account at the Union Bank.

It was resolved : "That the present method of collection and ballot close at 3 p.m. on May 31st. All monies to be paid into Union Bank ot Australasia, Helensville, not later than that time. Result of ballot to be declared ttnmed, iately afterwards, "

Models of proposed monument were submitted by Mr. W. H. Felton and Mr. R O. Gross, sculptors, of Auckland.

The next meeting of the committee will be held on May 34th.
