The following communication Las been received by Mr N. W. Rimmer, chairman of directors of the Kaipara Dairy Factory, from Hon. J. G. Coates, Minister for Justice :—

" Referring to remarks you and others made at a deputation Avhich recently interviewed me in Helensville re sand drift, the Minister of Lands, to whom I referred the representations made, replied that it was proposed to expend two sums of £500 each for establishing nurseries for the growing of marram grass and other sand-loving plants. One sum is to be spent on the western side of Whangarei harbour, and the other on the sand areas of Kaipara.
