PRESBYTERIAN BAZAAR.

SATISFACTORY RESULTS.

The bazaar and sale-of-work, held in the Star Theatre on Saturday afternoon and evening, in aid of Presbyterian Church funds, was not as well-attended as would have been the case had the clerk of the weather been in a better mood. The Presbyterian Guild ladies, however, are quite satisfied with results, the takings having reached considerably more than the amount aimed at. •

An excellent variety of articles and goods were on sale at the various stalls. The flrst^class quality of the goods on the fancy and plain stalls especially found a ready sale for these articles. The tea-rooms did a brisk business, as did also the sweets and drinks stalls, while the bran dip was a constant source of attraction to the children.

The various stall-holders were as follows: —

Fancy Stall— Mesdames A. J. Hill, W. Butterworth, J". A. Wilson, C. P. Thompson, A. J. Garry, J. H. Leonard.

Produce—Mesdames Coutts and D. McDonald.

Sweets Stall—Misses P. Butterworth and B. Wilson.

Soft Drinks—Misses F. Ross, M, Hill, M. Butterworth.

Flower Stall—Miss M. Stewart. Bran Dip — Misses P, Thompson, E. Ooutts, M. Hill, E. Sim.

Tea-rooms —Mrs Jas. Stewart, assisted by Mesdames C. Oxley, Jno. Grey, W. Campbell, Misses A. Simcock, I. Simcock, and R. Coutts.

The shooting gallery proved a very popular institution, and was kepc going busily throughout the evening. Mr N. Wallace had charge of this attraction. A number of guessing competitions were also held.

During the evening the Rev. Butterworth, on behalf of the Ladies' Guild, thanked those present for the support accorded them, and also those who had given valuable assistance in making preparations for the event.

Miss Simcock is the capable secretary of the Presbyterian Ladies' Guild, who put in a lot o* work in connection with the Bazaar. The takings amounted to about £100.
