WOODHILL.
On Friday evening last a social evening was held in the Hall. The Bible Class postponed its usual meeting,.as Rev. P. Bridge, the new Methodist Home Missionary, was expected at the social. Owing to unfor-seen-cir-cumstances Mr Bridge was not able to he present, much to the disappointment of all. A good programme, however, was gone through, and Rev. Speer gave an interesting talk. It is hoped that the social evenings may be a regular institution, and perhaps may be the means of creating a better understanding all round.
Rev. P. Bridge arrived on Sat" urday last, and conducted services last Sunday at Kaukapakapa, Waimauku, and \\Toodhill. Good .congregatiq'n,s gathered in all places, and \\ is hoped that a new fiHup will he Riven to the work. Good progress has been made during the course of the last few imonths, but with concentration a great deal more can be accomplished,
We hear that Mr B. Hoe has sold his property, and will shortly ba building again on his other farm near Rewiti. It is good to know that he. is not leaving the district, as men of his stamp are badly needed.
We hear that boxing is likely to become a popular pastime in this locality, one well-known resident being anxious to' shqw his skill in this direction,
