We regret to hear that Mr J. Constable . is suffering from a general breakdown, * and is at present confined to his home.-
Mr J. H.Claridge, a well-known North Island newspaper founder, paid a visit to Helensville recently.
Mr and Mrs D. Ross, of Helensville, leave Auckland by the Niagara to-mor-row on a holiday trip to Australia.
Mr W. J. F. Dear, secretary to the Kaipara Dairy Factory Co , and family, have returned from a holiday visit to Australia.
Lieutenant H. C. Spinley, R.N.V.R., (Devonport), of the Engineers, Department, Auckland City Council, was actively engaged throughout 1917 in fast motor launches mine-laying and mine-sweepinfc, from Sheerness and Harwich. In January 1918, he was appointed to a submarine chaser, in which he served until the cessation of hostilities. He has- since been in charge of a vessel at Scapa. Lieut. Spinley is a nephew of Mr R. J. Spinley, of Helensville.
