THE " N.Z. PIERROTS"
The principal members of which comprisa the present " Digger "troupe, were formed some two and a half-years ago, headed by Sergt Fama and Pte>Sisiw Lawson, and fostered by the generosity of Padre Walls, of the Salvation Army, to entertain thousands of men passing through the reinforcement camps. This band of enthusiasts in their spare time from military duties, gave some hundreds of performances in camps and hospitals in France and Belgium, amongst them being a special Command Performance at Sir Douglas Haig's Headquarters at, Montruil. Their revue, "Eyes F-ont" was a standard araoig Divisional concert parties, and earned them the privilege of repersenting the Division in a tour of England and Scotland. This troupe has played since their inception under all sorts of conditions. During the last push of the Hun on the. Flanders front the Pierrots performed nightly under shellfire to hundreds of Belgian refugees'. It is a question which bad the "wind up" most—the audience or the performers. The prodigals have now returned home and-Helensville should *ive them a warm welcome Saturday night
