AWAROA BOWLING CLUB.

ANNUAL MEETING.

The annual general meeting of the above was held in the Lyric supper, room on Tuesday, September 23rd.* There was a large attendance of members, and the president, Mr R. Smith, occupied the chair. Apologies for non-attendance were received from Messrs Aitkenhead, Ellet, and Screaton. The minutes of the last general and special general meetings were read and adopted. The balance sheet was passed as read. It was moved that the incoming committee have the Club property re-valued. The committee's report was also read and adopted. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year :— Patron —Mr D. Stewart. President—Mr R. Smith. Secretary and Treasurer—Mr R. J. Walters. . Senior Vice-Pre3ident—Mr Aitkenhead Vice-Presidents—Hon. A. Myers, Major Coates, M.P., Mr C. J. Parr, M.P., and Mr Jas. Stewart; Committee—Messrs A. Hammond, W. J- Ellett, A. J. Hill, T. Dwerryhouse, J. Constable, C. Sandin, W, Hunt, A. Bishop, W. Mouatt, with power to add to their number. Auditor—Mr H. White, junr. Sole Selector and Handicapper—Mr A. Hammond. Green Superintendent—Mr R. Smith. Delegate to Dominion Bowling Association —Mr H. Aitkenhead. Caretaker—Mr Tovey. Votes of thanks were passed to the president, green superintendent, and caretaker. The following are new members — Messrs J. H. Leonard, J. Stanaway, and R. Cuthbert. It was decided to hold a meeting of the committet on Tuesday, October 7th, it 8 p.m., in Mr C. Sandin's shop. Opening day was fixed for Labour Day. The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks to the chair. There is every indication that the Club will receive many additions to its membership, the green at present being in first-class order, and it will be fit for play in another fortnight, weather permitting.
