The manager of the Bank of New Zealand reports : —We have received the following advice from London, under date 16th inst: —The sales have opened with strong competition and large attendance of buyers. There is a good demand for all kinds of wool. The market is strong for all kinds of merino and fine crossbreds, and prices are higher 5% to 7-Hj%. The market is strong for medium crossbreds, with prices higher par to 5%. The demand for coarse crossbreds is improving. Other wools show no quotable change.
