DOMAIN BOWLING GREEN.

To the Editor,

Sir,—l and a few friends went to the Springs grounds to-day anticipating a good game of bowls. On arriving we found the green unplayable, through stray horses having been- over it and cutting it up from corner to corner, not leaving a rink playable. I find that horses belonging to one of our councillors have done the damage, and it is not the first time the same thing has happened. This carelessness in looking after horses and cattle straying on the road is not only detrimental to the greens, but also to the revenue derived therefrom. This green in particular will not again be playable this season for bowls, and is therefore a decided loss to the Domain Board in revenue. As the green was in perfect order on Saturday last, the least the responsible party can do is to pay for the damage done.—l am, etc.,

Bowler.
