DISTRICT NEWS.

WOODHILL.

[From a Correspondent.]

Feeling in Woodhill just now is running pretty high in connection with welcome home socials to the boys who are returning. Arrangements for one such social were made recently, and a very good concert programme was promised for part of the evening, to conclude with a dance, if desired. Some ot the residents vetoed the concert, and wanted only a dance, and the result was that a vote on the matter was taken, the majority (though representing fewer of the families) voting in favour of a dance only. It is felt by many that the dancing fraternity give no thought to the welcome home part of the proceedings, wanting only the dance, and not caring much about the boys or their parents. No objection is taken to the dances, but it is only fair to give all a chance, and by holding a concert the promoters of such functions cater for that section of tire community who do not care for dancing.
