ANNUAL REPORT,

Following is the continuation of the above Association's annual report, held over from last issue :— Mr L. L. Bailey's cup, value £3 3s, for best cow, milk test competion, was won by Mr J. Grey. Dr. Meinhold's cup, value £5 ss, for best baby under 12 months, was won by Guy Shanks. Receipts. — Gate money and hall receipts amounted to £80 12s 7d, against £69 9s 7d the previous year, an increase . of £11 3s. Expenditure,—On the expenditure side we have prize monies £22410s 9d, against £213 16s 3d, an increase of £10 14s 6dWages for Show £16 2s, against £6 3s, an increase of £9 10s. Printing and advertising increased £25 19s Id. Ribbons cost £8 10s, an increase of £1 14s. The caterer was paid £13 9s 6d, an increase of £4 7s 6d. - , On the motion of Mr Spinley, seconded by Mr Sim, 'the balance sheet was adopted. Milk Test—The milk test competition brought forward 24 entries, Mr Grey's " Polly " being the winner. — Competitions in Show Stock— Draught Stock—Entries very poor. Special Classes—Competition fair. Harnesss Horses, Blood Stock, and Hunters—Competition fair, but did not come up to last year's entries. Cattle—The dairy stock classes were a great improvement on the previous year, both in quality of cattle' and number. Fat Cattle and Stores—Competition fair in fat cattle, but poor in stores. Sheep—Although fresh classes were opened last year for Leicester and Downs, the result was not encouraging. The total number of sheep entered was considerably less than fast year. Hall Exhibits—.On the whole the garden and home exhibits were quite equal to those of last year. Mr Raisher's magnificent display of pot plants added Kreatly to the appearance of the Hall. The needlework classes were well represented, the judges commenting upon the nne class of work that was exhibited School Work-Owing to the* schools being closed on account of the influenza epidemic, there was practically no school work shown. —General Account— Since last meeting the Hall has been leased to the Helensville Agricultural. "- Hall Society at a rental of £78 per annum. The grounds and sheds are leased.for the sum of £65, making a total of £133 per annum. Added to this we have from interest £55, totalling £188; against; this we have Bank interest,' rates, and working expenses to provide for. In conclusion the Committee desire to express their appreciation to the Ladies' Committee for the way they oarried out their work in connection with the Show, also to the president and officers for tlieir untiring energies throughout the year.
