KAUKAPAKAPA.

Mr E. H. Pain, the organier of the Sunday School Union, has been making a tour of the district during the past week. Mr Pain has had 10 years experience as an evangelist in South Africa, and 10 years a» a Methodist Home Missionary in N.Z. before taking up his present position. Many lectures illustrated by lantern views have been given, and greatly enjoyed.

On Saturday last the Kaukapakapa Football team met to say farewell to their popular captain, Mr Neville Wallace, who is shortly leaving the district. The function took the form of a dinner and was held in the Old Bridge Hotel. A large number of the boys were present and a very enjoyable time was spent.

The Men's Social Club held their usual session on Saturday evening, about 25 members being present. The programme consisted of impromptu speeches, and some of the speeches might have done credit to even the N.Z. Parliament (as at present constituted). Mr Diprose occupied the chair, while Mr L. Scott was recording secretary.

A welcome visitor to the district will be Miss Jacobson, a missionary on furlough from Fiji. The lady has an interesting story to tell, and is to occupy the pulpits at the Kaukapakapa and Helensville Methodist Churches on Sunday next.
