WAINUI

[Own Correspondentl

On Wednesday evening of last week a welcome home social was tendered to Privates D. Eagleson S. Scott, and Sergt. W. Stevens. There was a large crowd present, and dancing was indulged in until a late hour. During the evening Mr Milligan, in a neat speech, welcomed home the returned warriors. Each of the boys suitably replied, making special mention of the parcels sent out by the ladies of the district. A presentation was made to Mrs D. Eagleson, the first English war bride in the district,- of an afternoon tea set from the Wainui ladies.
