I see that Professor Roman, of the Syracuse U.S.A. University, has been writing a book called " Nicotine Next," in which he suggests that the Great Republic having banned alcohol : should now proceed to prohibit tobacco. And if the anti-fqbaccoites carry the latter "reform" (?) the people who object to dancing, theatregoing, and novel-reading will doubtless, in turn, agitate for the prohibition of those practices. What an excellent world to live out of this one would be if all the social reformers only had their way !
