FORFEITURE OF CIVIL RIGHTS.

A Gazette issued with a list of military defaulters under the Act of 1918 contains about 2,600 names. It is notified that the men whose names appear are deprived of civil rights for ten years from December 10, 1918, and anyone out of New Zealand on that date is prohibited from returning to the Dominion, and is also prohibited for ten years from changing his name. The penalty for a breach of any of these conditions is twelve years' imprisonment. An appeal may be made to a Magistrate on tho ground that a name was inserted in the list by error.
