FLIGHT TO END IN WEDDING BELLS

Just before last Christmas a girl named Rosetta Hunter, alias Pearl Smith, escaped from a rescue home at Parnell, and proceeded to Freeman's Bay, where she besought an acquaintance, Andrew Kelly, to give her shelter. This he did, and while she was in the house he introduced her to a Henderson farmer, Thos. Averill,.who offered her a billet as housekeeper. £>he accepted, and-a+O'went on smjpothly until the-, authorities ; gat on Rosetta's tra*b4& Then she was charged with escaping fronf the refuge and Kelly was charged with helping her to escape. What might have happened to her as the result of this charge 1 don't know, if Thos. Averill, her employer, had not offered to marry her. The wedding is to come off as soon as the girl can. be admitted to probation. Thus two fond hearts will shortly beat as one. The only person who has reason to be dissatisfied with the way in which things have turned out is Andrew Kellv who

was fined £20 for helping Rosetta to escape; and who declares that he was unaware she was an escapee. Perhaps ho will be asked to act as " best man " at the approaching: ceremony, and that will console him ? The whole story is as interesting as a penny novelette, and would make a lovely romance for the screen at the movie theatres.
