KAUKAPAKAPA.

[Own Correspondent]

In response to a communication from the Helensville Pootball Club, the formation of a Club in Kaukapakapa has been decided upon. A practice match was held last Saturday in Drinnan's paddock, and quite a fair number rolled up. Next week, it is understood, a team from Helensville are to journey to Kaukapakapa to play the first match of the season.

A meeting has been called for Friday evening next in the Methodist Church to consider the starting of an up-to-date Bible class. The class is to be held on a week night, and is to open to both sexes. It is felt that this will supply a long-felt need, and already good support has been promised. The annual Foreign Missionary meetings of the Methodist Church are to be held in this district on June 12th and 13th. The deputation this year is to be the Rev. J. H. Edmondson, a former Home Missionary at Kaukapakapa. Further particulars will be announced later.

Oh Saturday last the first meeting of the newly-formed Kaukapakapa Men's Social Club was held in the Hall. The meeting was op_en to ladies and gentlemen, and a good number availed themselves of the opportunity to be present. The President (Mr Koller) occupied the chair, and a very enjoyable time was spent. A pianoforte duet was given by Misses Henley and Sinclair, whilst songs were rendered by Miss Fewell, and Messrs C. Jones and Pace Some good readings were given by Messrs McLachlan and Koller. At the close -of the programme light refreshments were handed round. The Club already has about 40 members, and a most successful time is anticipated by those responsible,

Th« next'meeting will be on Saturday, 31st inst., when a debate will be .held. Country Life v. Town Life. Mr Stevens will champion the country side, and Rev. C. Pace the town. All men will receive a Hearty welcome.

The anniversary lervices in connection with the Kaukapakapa Sunday School were held last week. On the Sunday afternoon the anniversary service was conducted by fiie Boy. F. 0. Pace and there was a large attendance of scholars and parents. The singing of the children, under the baton of Mr Fewel], was a feature of the service, whilst the organ accompaniments of Miss F-ewell left nothing to be desired. The ohjldrens address and the sermon were specially adapted for the occasion, and at the conclusion all felt that this year's anniversary service had been a

gy-eat success. %£n Tuesday last the anaual meeting took place in the It was surprising to see '^chat a large number attended, -« and a second^sitting was necessary to accomod^te them all. Plenty of gpqci tilings had' been protfiaecj, so in'spifce of the crowd al| were rn,ade happy and satisfied. After tea a musical pro gramme was rendered by the friends, and the children sang * sani^ of their hymns. t}uring the evening the prizes were S'istrib.uted b,y the ' Bey. Bace, Mr Stevens made an efficient chairman, and the meeting closed with the usual votes .of thanks and the benediction.
