was held in the W6odhill;Hall on Tuesday, 13th inst., in honour of local returned soldiers, -■ and proved a great success, there being an attendance of over 220 people. Short speeches were delivered

by Messrs Campbell, Aitkenhead, T and J. C. Parr,- who welcomed the men home.

Sergt.-Major Drinnan, on behalf of the men, suitably responded.

The musical programme as arranged by Miss Harper was much appreciated.

Apologies for unavoidable ab: sence were received from Major Gordon Coates, M.P., and Mr Jas. Stewart, President Kaipara Returned Soldiers' Association, and several soldiers.

The supper was ably catered for by Mrs Easton of Helensville.
