ST. MATTHEW'S ANGLICAN

CHURCH

The annual meeting of the parishioners was held in the j Church atHelensville on Sunday, j May 4th, when there was a good j attendance. The Vicar was in the chair, and thanked all those who had assisted in the work of the Chuich during the year ended March 31st, 1919. The balance sheet, which was adopted, showed that the receipts for the year were £260 5s 8d ; expenditure, £246 5s 9d ; credit balance, £13 19s 11. The Vicar in his address to the parishioners said that although the epidemic had made a great difference in the attendance, on the whole there had been good work done, and the future was bright. A Church had been erected and dedicated at Kair kapakapa. Churches are to be erected at Helensville, Haupai, Waimauku, Tauhoa, Parakai. Special thanks were passed to the ladies for their work during the past year, also to Mr A. J. Hill, secretary of the Vestry. The following officers were elected : Peoples Warden, Mr S. Olive; Vestry—Messrs Bradly, Walters, Mills, Thompson, Hill, Carter, Screaton, Leach, Battle, Laing, Ellett, and Rimmer. NEW MEMOEIAL CHURCH The Building Committee met the architect last week, and it was decided to adhere to the plan, which has already been exhibited in Mr Screaton's shop window. It is hoped to commence building operations next spring.
