PEACE CELEBRATIONS.

HELENSVILLE PREPARATIONS

JP^ ■ - . N Preparations for peace celebrations are proceeding satisfactorily . in Helensville. For the Tuesday, the second day of the Peace Celebrations, application has been made to the Railway Department for the train usually arriving at 12 o.clock noon from Wellsford ~io arrive at Helensville at 10 a.m., departing from Helensville again at 5 p.m.; also the usual 4.12 p.m train for Auckland to be delayed until 5 p.m. This will enable visitors.from both up and down the line to join in the procession, leaving the Station at 10 a.m. for the Springs Grounds. A Brass Band of twenty-five members has been booked for the celebrations.

Arrangements are being made for bonfires. The Town Board is cleaning up all waste rubbish growing in the various streets, and this will go towards the main bonfire in the town. This suggestion is also offered to private property owners.

The settlers are asked to cooperate in the building of bonfires at th« outlying vantage points.

•The Procession Committee has the arrangements for the transport of children and others in hand. Those who can provide motor cars, brakes or traps are asked to send in their names.

The caretaker of the Hot Springs Domain has arrangements for preparing the Sports Ground well forward.

Remember that every settler from outlying districts, who can come to Helensville for Peace Celebrations, is cordially invited to do so, and those who can assist are asked to communicate with the Chairman, Helensville Town Board.
