THE LICENSING POLL.

I understand that the number of names on the rolls for thespecial licensing poll, to eventuate on the 10th April next, constitute a record. Never before was there such a rush to " get en," and if the anxiety to enrol is to be taken as a criterion of the public interest in the poll the voting on this great occasion is likely to constitute another record. There has been no licensing election in this country for five years, and it is abundantly evident that the people mean business. Which is it going to be—wet or dry ? Well, I have my own opinion about that. But we shall see what we shall see.
