A meeting of importance to returned soldiers is called for to-morrow (Friday) evening, in the Lyric Theatre supper roem at 8 p.m.

The Helensville Acclimatization Society will hold their annual meeting on Monday next. Olga Pefcrova in "More truth than Poetry," five smashing acts of love and mystery at the Lyric Friday evening.

Pauline Fredrick pledged to please Paramount picture patrons in "Double Crossed" at the Agricultural Hall on Tuesday next. Helensville is becoming more and more popular as a tourist resort, and an increasingly large number of cars make the trip from Auckland every week.

A most terrific and willing 'go' is seen in the " Habit of Happiness," featuring Douglas Fairbanks, to be shown at the Lyric Saturday.

The town lighting scheme is getting nearer —our city fathers had a talk about electricity with an expert from Auckland the other day and we trust got some light on the subject.

Mr E. Wright, accountant, has completed his lengthy report in connection with the Waitemata County Council, and the matter will be dealt .with at the next meeting of the Council on 12th March.

Douglas Fairbanks gets mixed up with Pacifists and bombmakers in "In again—out Again" on Saturday at Agricultural Hall. A Mack Sennett Coinedv (first one shown in our town) will also be screened.

Tarring and sanding footpaths has been underway for some time past, giving our thoroughfares quite an air of respectability. It is the first time some of the paths in the south end of the town have seen tar, and the residents down there are suffering a pleasant surprise.
