MARKET REPORT. Mr J. Jones, Auctioneer, New City Market, Auckland, report as follows : — The market this week has been steady and a very large volume of business has been put through, Values in poultry market are very satisfactory, and we penned large numbers, all pen accommodation being filled. For good heavy birds competition was keen, light are not in demand. Pigs lower in value. Potatoes are steady with no marked change in value. Fruit in heavy supply with a splendid demand. Butter and eggs about same as la.st report. Grain market quiet. We quote : —• POULTRY Roosters, prime up to 6s 3d, good 4s 9d to 5s 4d, cockrells 2s 3d to 3s 7d ; chickens, Is to Is 8d; ducks, 2s 3d to 4s lid; geese, 4s 6d to ss; hens, good heavy 3s 6d to 4s 4d, good 3s to 3s 4d, light 2s to 2s 5d ; turkeys (none marketed) ; ducklings, lOd to Is 4d each. FARM PRODUCE Potatoes £6 to £8, onions 10s to 11s 6d, kumeras 14s 6d. Pigs—Good supply, weaners 12s 9d to £1 ss, sows £1 10s to £1 17s 6d, htavy £3 10s to £4 18s 6d.
