KAIPARA SUB-PROVINCIAL DISTRICT. BALANCE OF REPORT. A MEETING of the Executive was held in the Board room on Monday, November 4th. —New Remits — (Continued ) ti No. 17 Te Kopuru Branch.— j " That with a view of securing to j the producer a regular remunera- ! tive price for eggs the Kaipara Executive be asked to obtain the best information on the preserving and marketing of eggs. The formation of Egg Supply Associations and any other details that may assist the industry and disseminate the same among the branches with its recommendations." Mr Stallworthy supported and moved. Mr Hamilton seconded —That this remit be sent to the Prov. Executive. No. 18 Avoca Branch.—"That where Crown Lands adjoin land already settled the State should automatically and immediately become liable with the individual in the cost of fencing, and further that a line should be cut one chain wide on the Crown Land, the Crown Ranger at the Government's expense to decide a fair value." Mr McDermott supported and moved, seconded by Mr Walton and carried —That this remit be referred to the branches. Messrs Rimmer, Macfarquhar, and Hamilton also spoke in support of this remit. No. 19 Helensville Branch. — " That this branch considers the time has arrived when the Government should facilitate the development of lime deposits in North Auckland district." Moved and supported by Mr Rimmer, seconded by Mr Gibbs —That this remit be referred to the branches. No. 20 Helensville Branch.— " That the Executive move in the direction of starting a Co-opera-tive Lime Works." Supported and moved by Mr Rimmer, seconded by Mr Macfarquhar and carried —That this remit be referred to the branches. No, 21 Helensville Branch. — "That the Government be urged to take immediate action in regard to the sand menace on the coasts north of Auckland." Supported and moved by Mr Rimmer, seconded by Mr McLeod and carried —That this remit be referred to the Prov. Executive. No. 22 Helensville Branch. — " That the Government be urged to establish a District High School as promised in Helensville." Supported and moved by Mr Rimmer, seconded by Mr Rimmer and carried —That this remit be referred to the Prov. Executive. No. 23 Helensville Branch. — Re Rabbit Menace —Withdrawn. No. 24 Kaukapakapa Branch. — " That in cases of epidemics the Health Department display at all Post Offices a notice showing (a) methods of prevention, (b) symptoms, (c) treatment." Suppoited and moved by Mr Snelling, seconded by Mr Trounson —That this be declared an urgent remit and referred to Prov. Executive. No. 25 Te Arai Branch.—"That the Government be urged to open gum lands of the North for free selection under residential and improvement clause —returned soldiers preference." —Referred to next meeting. No. 26 Te Arai Branch.—"That the night train run through to Ranganui instead of stopping at Wellsford as at present," —Referred to next meeting. On the motion of Mr Stallworthy, seconded by Mr Hamilton, the Secretary was instructed to gather information as to whether the Treasurer has a vote on|the Executive Committee. On the motion of Mr Trouson, seconded by Mr Childs, the Secretary was instructed to write to the Provincial Secretary asking for full information regarding members of the Auckland Branch of N.Z.F.U. who are not members of any sub-provincial district. Mr Stallworthy stated that balance-sheet sent to the local [ Branch was not too satisfactory, and moved that the Finance Committee look into affairs and report at next meeting. Seconded by Mr Gibbs and carried, and suggested that financial statement be laid on the table at monthly meetings. Authority to operate on the Bank a/c in the usual terms and condition as read, substituting the name L. L. Baitey for Tancred A. Cooper. —Carried. The secretary read the report
summary of members, showing a total of 569 members—4Bs financial and 75 unfinancial. Report received, on the motion of Mr Stallworthy, seconded by Mr Trouson. Re Farmers' Club.—A letter dealing with this matter, was read. —The matter was deferred till next meeting. The Secretary was instructed to have necessary sign-writing done on windows. A deputation from the Helensville A. and P. Association waited on the Executive, requesting that Mr Bailey's services as Secretary to the said Association be retained until the end of the financial year. On the motion of Mr Stallworthy, seconded by Mr Walton, the request was granted. Mr Rimmer thanked the Executive for their kindly consideration. A vote of thanks was passed to Mr Tancred A. Cooper for the work of organising this district. The date, of next meeting was left with the Executive to arrange and if possible to avoid a Monday meeting. Accounts, salaries, and delegates' expenses amounting to £88 19s were passed for payment.
