THE POTSDAM NERO.

The royal vermin of Germany are.in a bad way. Germania has not enough blood left to nourish them. One of the questions of the day in the Vaterland ia not—What indemnity shall Britain pay for forcing this war on us ?—but, What are we going to do with Crazy Bill and this mountebank of a Kronprinz ? The Kaiser's wife, poor frau, has been infected with his dementia—small wonder ! But there is some method in the madness of the Potsdam Nero. He is said to be trying to save a few of the relics of his royal state, and preparing furnished lodging* for himself in Holland. He never forgets No. 1 entirely, with all his solicitude for his beloved German people. One fine night he will slip out by a back door with a portmanteau containing the Crown jewels, and make for his retreat, having the Chancellor to explain that he has gone for a rest and change of air.
