AWAROA BOWLING CLUB.

THE Club's opening of the green took place on Saturday last in the form of a Pairs Tournament in aid of the Red Cross Helensville Effort. The President, Mr R. Smith, made a few happy remarks and asked Mrs Smith to throw the Jack. The President then declared the green open for play. A goodly number of members and visitors joined in the tournament, the Club proriding afternoon tea, the ladies taking charge of this part. The weather somewhat interferred with the success of the games, not being able to complete the tournament, but all took it pleasantly. The green played well and to the satisfaction of the visitors.
