PICNIC AND EXCURSION.

The s,s Ruawai left the wharf last Sunday morning with a good complement of pinickers and fishermen for Shelly B»ach. The day was a perfect one, and everyone enjoyed themselves, v but the unfortunate part was that no fish were caught, although the Committee had the s.B. Te Tui at their disposal which made a capital boat for the purpose. The Red Cross will benefit to the extent of about £15, but up to the present it is not known whether Te Pua or Helensville Queens will be credited with the amount, through there being some misunderstanding between the Captain and the Sports Committee, the former wanting to take half the proceeds.
