AN APPRECIATION.

The Captain of the Helenaville Fire Brigade is in receipt of the following letter from Messrs Phillips and Spitz (Ideal Drapery Stores), Pitt Street, Auckland, dated September 3 :—" We would like to express to you our very warm appreciation for the good work done by you and your assistants on the occasion of the fire on our premises at Helensville lat week. Please accept our best thanks for your efforts, and kindly convey same to the men who so ably assisted you. As a small token of our appreciation we beg to hand you herewith a cheque for £3 3s towards the funds of your Brigade."
