GRAND RED CROSS ENTERTAINMENT

A LITTLE FOWL PLAY.

A VERY much above the average entertainment will be given on Thursday, 22nd August, in support of the ' Copper Trail,' at Lyric Theatre. Miss Maud Rimmer Rimmer sing some of the latest London songs. An artistic farcical comedy full of clever wit will be given, called ' A Little Fowl Play.' No pains have been spared to make this curtain-raiser a a success, and the performance is lo ofced forward to with eager interest as the players are all well-known. During the evening instrumental quartettes will also be given. It will thus be seen that this district has seldom had such an entertainment presented, and as the proceeds go to the Red Cross Fund it is everyone's duty to attend.

The performance will be repeated at Kaukapakapa on August 26.

It should be realised that although the National Efficiency Board's proposal calls for the abolition of the Liquor Traffic—the proposal will provide for the exemption of alcohol for medicinal purposes. Liquor will still be available where necessary in cases of illaess. Other important exemptions are those of wine for sacramental purposes and alcohol for scientific and industrial use.'
