HELENSVILLE TOWN BOARD.

THURSDAY, JULY 11th, 1918

PRESENT

Comrs. J. F. Lambert (chairman), H.Thompson, H. Aitkenhead, H. Graham, and the clerk (Mr W. F. Raisher).

MINUTES

Minutes of previous meeting were read and confirmed.

CORRESPONDENCE

Outward correspondence was confirmed.

GENERAL

A building permit was granted to the North Auckland Farmers' Co-op, Ltd.

Mr W. G. Bradly was appointed . ranger for the Helensville Town D.strict.

The Clerk was instructed to notify Messrs C. West and R. Smith that proceedings will be taken all persons driving cattle along the footpaths.

Application was received from Messrs Hamlin and Co. and A. Forrester, requesting the Board to extend the footpath in Mill Road to their properties. The Chairman proposed and Cr, Aitkenhead seconded—That the Board regret they are unable to do the work at present.—Carried.

On the motion of the Chairman, seconded by Cr. Thompson, it was resolved—That the Clerk write to the Justice Department asking them to vest their reserve in the Town Board for the purpose of public school.

The Chairman proposed and Cr Aitkenhead seconded —That the Clerk have the Roll of Honour illuminated at the Herald office, framed, and hung in the Public Library.—Carried.

On the motion of Cr. Aitkenhead, seconded by Cr. Graham, it was decided—That the opinion of the Board's Engineer be obtained re the water supply to Parakai, more especially as to the storage capacity of the dam, cost of increasing same, and cost of laying pipes.

Cr. Thompson introduced the question of the neglected state of the cemetery reserve, and it was resolved that the Chairman and Cr. Thompson visit the grounds and report to next meeting.

Mr Robinson, Captain of the Helensville Fire Brigade, waited on the Board, and informed them that he had had an offer from the Auckland Brigade of a hose ieel. It was resolved that the reel be purchased for a sum not exceeding £12 10s, Mr Robinson to arrange the business.

ACCOUNTS

Accounts amounting to £117 9s 3d were passed for payment.
