ASSISTANCE TO WHEATGROWERS.

FARMERS or others willing to grow wheat this season, but requiring financial backing in connection with the purchase of seed and [or] manure, are itiyited to send an application to the Fields Supervisor for their district. The application should be addressed to. the Field Supervisor at Auckland, Hamilton, Napier, Weraroa, as the case may be.
After making any necessary inquiries and on being satisfied that the proposal is suitable, the Fields Supervisor will supply the applicant with a letter guaranteeing, on behalf of the Department, payment after the harvest to any merchant or other vendor for the quantity of seed-wheat and [o*] manure shown in the application;: provided the price charged for the seed-wheat is according-to the regulations, and provided the price for the manures is the ordinary rate ruling at the time they are supplied. On receipt of the Government guarantee the applicant can forward it to any merchant or other vendor and make his own arrangements with him.
Full particulars and forms of application can be obtained at any of the principal offices of the Department.
