EUCHRE AND DANCE.
A MOST enjoyable time' was spent in the Agricultural Hall on Monday evening last. These euchre and dance socials, promoted by the Catholic Church Committee, are deservedly popular and are always well patronisad. Last Monday's proved no exception. A good number sat down to the card tables, and the games were all keenly contested. Mrs' Ellett was the highest scorer among the ladies, receiving a handsome tray-cloth presented by Mrs Farrell. Mr Healy was awarded gentlemen's prize, a silver match-box, donated by Miss Stanaway. The consolation prizes were carried off by Mrs Carmody and Mr. J. Morris. A dainty supper was handed round and greatly appreciated, after which dancing . was resumed and continued until the wee sma' hours. ~. Miss Rimme'1 presided at the piano, and Mr J, F. Lambert junr. acted as M^C.
The next social will be held in three weeks'time, July 1. *
