MARKET REPORT

MESSRS J. J. Jones, Auctioneers, City Market, Auckland, report as follows : — The market this week has been very good, and a large volume of business has been put through. The poultry market was heavily supplied, and better prices are ruling. All good killable birds are in strong demand. We quote: POULTRY Hens, good heavy 3s to 3s 7d, good 2s 5d to 2s lid, pullets (according to breed and forwardness) 3s to 5s Id, ordinary 2s 6d to 3s 3d ; ducks, 3s to 5s Id; roosters, heavy 4s 6d to 5s 6d, good 4s to 4s sd, small 2s to 3s ; geese, 5s 6d to 7s ; turkey, gobblers 9s to 12s, hens 4s to ss. Pigs —Market easier, 5s 6d to 12s 9d. FARM PRODUCE Potatoes, Southern £8 to £10, local £5 to £6 5s ; swedes, £3 ; kumeras, 7s to 8s ; pumpkins, £4 to £5 ; mellons, £4.
