COMMERCIAL
MARKET REPORT.
MESSRS J. J. Jones, Auctioneers, City Market, Auckland, report as follows : —
The tone of the market for most lines is steady. Local potatoes are much easier. The shipping space from the South Island is getting better, and therefore firms will now be able to replenish their low stocks. The grain market shows no change. Poultry still come forward in heavy supply and quotations stand about the same as last report. For a line of choice white Leghorn pullets we realised 6s 9d to 10s 4d. Table birds are steady. Present values are likely to stand for a month or so. Pigs though low in value are slightly firmer. Pumpkins and kumeras are in good demand. Fruit market very much firmer and we recommend consignments.
