HELENSVILLE TOWN BOARD.

URSDAY, APRIL 11TH, 1918

, Comrs. J. F. Lambert (chairman), H. Thompson, H. Graham, H. Aitkenhead, and the clerk (Mr W. F. Raisher). MINUTES Minutes of previous meeting were read and confirmed. CORRESPON DENCE Outward correspondence was confirmed. Letters were received and dealt with as follows : —

From L. L. Bailey, requesting that water channel be made along Mrs Cameron's frontage.— Agreed.

From Postal Department, re letter-box at the Board's office. — Resolved to get further information from the Department. From Justice Department, granting section at corner of 6th and Bth Avenues for a Fire Brigade station.

From W. Sandin, re damage to his property from storm water. — Matter to be attended to.

THE TROLLEY NUISANCE

A complaint was received with regard to the small boy trolley nuisance. Also the driving of cattle along the footpath. It was decided to enforce By-law 40 (1 and m), and to advertise same ; also that Constable Hunt be asked to prosecute against further offenders.

BALANCE SHEET

The balance sheet for twelve months, ending March 31, 1918, was read by the Clerk and adopted.

THE LOAN

Proposed by the Chairman, seconded by Cr. Aitkenhead — That (if legal) two years' sinking fund be paid out of water and drainage charges account into the £3000 loan account at the Union Bank of Australia.

IMPROVEMENTS

It was decided to put a couple of trucks of metal on Mary Street, and that a portion of the formation be attended to.

RAILWAY DRAINAGE

It was resolved that the Ra ".1Department be charged 25s per annum for each of the three water-closets in the station buildings and £1 for urinal (drainage charges), the Department for water used at usual rates.

ACCOUNTS

, Accounts lamounting to £16 7s 3d were passed for payment.
