LYRIC PICTURES.

—Friday Evening—

The latest War Topical; Ancient Portugeuse Dances, scenic ; " The New Waiter," a side-splitting comic; and Miss Edna Flugarth in the splendid five-part drama "The Third Generation."

—Saturday Evening—

Clara Williams in her first starring vehicle for Triangle, "The Criminal." The story is a pathetic one of a girl born outside the social pale in Italy and who becomes an immigrant to New York. Miss Williams with her dark eyes and hair is ideal for the role, and she plays with great power and pathos. The central situation of the play has to do with the kidnapping of a baby, and the suspicion that is cast upon the heroine who has adopted a poor little waif left in the cheap tenement in which she lives. William Desmond, as Donald White, the young writer who comes by chance upon the heroine, is seen in his best part to date. He shows a saving sense of humour which lightens the heavy tragedy which surrounds his little girl friend. The photography is in Triangle's best style, and the supporting cast more than usually good.

—Tuesday Evening—

" The Gentle Intruder "— In this Mutual play of unusual strength and beauty, the dainty little Mary Miles. Minter is starred in a role of surpassing sweetness. The story is a fascinating one, made doubly so by the charm and beauty of the star. A sweet-faced little girl has inherited a large fortune unknowingly. She lives for years in the home of the man who robbed her of it, and was treated as intruder. How the girl eventually comes into her legacy is told in a most unusual fashion, the unfolding of the story being most capably managed, -holding the audience spellbound with interest and sympathy. -A splendid caste assists Miss Minter, and the production generally is of the highest merit. The story and production are ideal for displaying the star's 'youth, wistfulness and engaging mannerism. She fits the part and the part fits her.
