UTILISING WASTE PRODUCTS.

MEETING TO-NIGHT IN LYRIC THEATRE.

BUSINESS people, farmers, and others are invited to attend an address on the above subject by Mr T. Fegan, assisted by Mr A Schmitt. Mr Fegan has just returned from a two years' to ur of America, and it should be very interesting to hear what he has to say on the economic, values and utilisation of waste products, and the .system in vogue in that country^ The speaker will tell you of the great amount of water power going to waste in this country, and the many valuable products produced with the aid of electricity, one of the principal being nitrogen. Germany had no advantages like New Zealand for the production of this useful article, but still she produced last year nearly £2,000,000 worth of nitrogen, some of which New Zealand would surely have to purchase after the war, if she did not produce it herself. Other matters will also be touched on by Mr Fagan, such as the by-products of coal tar, ironsand, meat refuse, fish offal (our harbour is full of sharks), sawdust, wool washing, flax waste, fruit waste, etc., showing how all these could be turned into commercial value. Do not fail to hear this lecturer who is a most fluent speaker and covers a lot of ground in a short space of time.
